
Premier's Award

The Premier of New South Wales, Bob Carr, recently
invited emergency service representatives to higher Government House to
participate in the inaugural presentation of the NSW Premier's Emergency
Award.
This new award has been developed to acknowledge
the significant contributions made by individual members or special
units to the community or their organisation.
The Ambulance Service was represented by CEO Greg
Rochford, General Manager, Operations Steve Whinfield, Sydney Divisional
Manager Eric Marks and myself.
The following nominees were recognised by the
Premier for their contributions and were the inaugural recipients of
this Award.
Individual Award:
Bill Watson
For conducting "Billy B Safe" in Sydney (a miniature ambulance used for
display purposes) for the past 14 years and being idolised by children.
Graham Symes (2nd from left in
photo)
For being instrumental in establishing and conducting the Traffic
Offenders Program.
Unit Award:
Colyton Ambulance Station
For conducting community first aid lectures. For staff interest
and involvement in the operational performance of the Station.
