Conference on Traffic Offender Programs
Preventing drivers and riders offending and crashing on NSW roads
Parliament House, Macquarie St, Sydney
Wednesday December 7, 2011 – 9:00 am to 4:30 pm
Under The Radar, the 2011 Conference on Traffic Offender Programs will highlight policies and programs that assist the NSW legal processes to change the way motorists use NSW roads.
The Under The Radar Conference on Traffic Offender Programs is supported through the sponsorship of the Hon. Barry O’Farrell MP, Premier of New South Wales.
The keynote speaker will be the Hon. Greg Smith MP, NSW Attorney General.
Discussions will include:
- Current practices and the operation of Traffic Offender Programs in New South Wales;
- Consideration of new information about driving offences, traffic offenders (including high-risk offenders), and the effectiveness of prevention and intervention programs targeting driving violations;
- Consideration of future policy and program developments, particularly in light of the NSW State Plan and the National Road Safety Strategy 2011-2020;
- Highlighting the role of volunteers – individually and as organisations (e.g., Rotary, Lions, etc.) – in supporting and delivering Traffic Offender Programs.
- Consideration of including a Traffic Offender Program as a prerequisite for licence reissue following suspension, cancelation and/or disqualification.
Under The Radar , the 2011 Conference on Traffic Offender Programs is a partnership between the Blacktown Traffic Offenders Program and The NSW Centre for Volunteering. Speakers include:

A conference proceedings will be published as a e-resource and include the presentations, summaries of discussions, and other invited papers.
Since the Blacktown Traffic Offenders Program commenced operation in 1992 it has not charged traffic offenders a fee for attendance.
In keeping with this philosophy, the Under The Radar Conference on Traffic Offender Programs is free for all delegates.
Registration should be completed before Thursday December 1, 2011 to ensure we can organise sufficient catering.
